Our Story

How it all started...

On July 11, 1999, God led Jason and Deanna Brewer to Springfield, Illinois where they started a new ministry, now affectionately known as King of Kings Christian Assembly.
At that time, it was called Christ Temple Apostolic Church (CTAC). When the Brewers started out, they barely knew anyone in Springfield and had no church members. Two weeks later, the first member was saved. Her name is Patricia Ann Nolden, and she is still a faithful member of the church. Sister Nolden being saved was the beginning of something very special. Her family members started getting saved and God began to bring very special other families to CTAC.

Expanding the vision...

In 2001, God blessed the Brewers to buy the former Sangamon County(IL) Juvenile Detention Center. They were broke, but God blessed them to borrow money from the Late Bishop Jeremiah Reed and the fellowship organization to which they belonged.
God blessed them to pay all of the money back in just a few years. It was in the Brewer’s hearts to buy the building and give it to the church. Shortly after moving into the “new” building, they began to renovate, repurposing it from a place where people were locked up, to a place where people are being made free by the Spirit and Word of God. The name of the church was changed to King of Kings Apostolic Temple. To make the financial load more feasible, the Brewers decided to move their family into a section of the building and made it their home for 16 years. That portion of the building is now the Bishop’s Conference Suite.

Where we are headed...

In 20 plus years, hundreds of souls have been saved and affected as a result of this ministry. In 2006, Pastor Brewer was elevated to the office of Bishop and placed over 11 churches in Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky in the Jesus Christ Apostolic Churches, Inc/Christ Apostolic Temple Fellowship where he served in various leadership capacities, including Assistant Presiding Bishop.
In 2015, God gave Bishop Brewer the vision for the Anchored in the King Christian Fellowship, giving him and Pastor Deanna the opportunity to work with his mother and pastor, Dr. Diana M. Brewer in leadership of this new fellowship of churches, where he serves as the Bishop. Early in his ministry, Bishop served Dr. Brewer as Assistant Pastor in Edwardsville, IL at Anchored In Truth Ministries (AIT). Today, the Brewer’s ministry continues to grow and is full of wonderful people and families who love the Lord and love God’s people. With this major shift, the name of the church was changed to
King of Kings Christian Assembly. This ministry was established on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone. (Eph 2:20) (Deut 6:4, Acts 2:38, Acts 11:26)

Over the years, God has expanded the reach of the ministry, bringing key leaders into the church, bringing diversity and depth, in the areas of music, community outreach, charity, and community engagement.
